By 1925, Rio Vista—which means “river view” in Spanish—had developed quickly, with over 5,000 feet of sidewalk laid and streetlights installed. After the Second World War, thousands of servicemen had discovered the Fort Lauderdale area, and settled down in the Rio Vista neighborhood.
